I’m Natalie Brooks, a yoga and Pilates instructor and someone who has never believed exercise needs to feel like punishment to count. I started with yoga and found Pilates later, but what kept me interested in both was noticing the smaller changes: moving better, feeling stronger, and finally getting the hang of exercises that once looked impossible. I like explaining why we are doing something, making people laugh when the workout gets tough, and helping them build a routine they can actually stick with. That is why I write for YogaNPilates.com. I cover yoga, Pilates, mobility, strength, flexibility, recovery, and everyday movement in a way that feels practical and approachable. You do not need to be naturally flexible or already fit. You just need somewhere to start. So start with me!

Some Reformer Studios Have Replaced the Instructor With a Screen

Picture a Reformer class where the person counting you through footwork is huge, perfectly lit, and unable to see you. A growing number of studios run every class that way, with pre-recorded video and no instructor walking between the machines. The Australian chain Pronto Pilates brought the format to Texas in early 2026, with classes […]

Gen Z Made Hot Mat Pilates the Class to Book

I knew Pilates had entered a new phase when people stopped asking me what a Reformer was and started asking where they could book the hottest class in town. Literally hottest. Hot mat Pilates takes familiar mat work and puts it in a heated room with more sweat, louder music, and a very Gen Z […]

How Much Is a Pilates Class in the US Right Now?

The first time someone asks me how much Pilates costs, my annoying instructor answer is usually, “Which kind?” A mat class at a gym, a small reformer class, and an hour alone with an instructor can all carry the Pilates name while landing in completely different price brackets. In the US right now, a realistic […]

What Is Reformer Pilates, and Why Is Everyone Booking It?

If you have opened a fitness app or spent five minutes on social media lately, you have probably seen a row of Reformers. I understand the curiosity. I used to work in a Reformer studio, and first-timers often gave the machines a cautious look before class started. Reformer Pilates is simply Pilates performed on a […]

Pilates Princesses, Matching Sets and Pilates as a Lifestyle

Somewhere along the way, Pilates acquired a dress code. Not an official one, obviously. But spend ten minutes scrolling through Pilates content online and you could be forgiven for thinking the standard equipment list now includes grip socks, a coordinated workout set, an enormous water bottle, a claw clip and an iced matcha waiting patiently […]

Why One Reformer Class Costs as Much as Dinner Out

Yes, the price of a reformer class can make you flinch. Fifty minutes on a machine costs about the same as dinner out, and it’s fair to wonder what exactly you’re paying for. Here’s where the money goes. The reformers themselves are expensive, and each one needs a good chunk of floor space, so a […]
